[UPDATE] They’re all gone.

Earlier this evening, while my fiancee and I were halfway through the Silver Lining Playbook movie, I got a text message from one of my best friends who was at Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square. His text message was simple and to the point: He stated that the restaurant had a small and limited supply of Heady Topper in stock and he advised me to rush over to have some. So I paused the movie and rushed over in under 20 minutes, a pretty good feat considering that I live in Waltham. We easily found parking and walked over an were able to snag 3 cans of it. I’ve had it once before and each time is pretty amazing. It’s a very resiny double IPA and knocks in at 8%. Each sip is complex, with a ton of various hop profils coating your tongue and makes for a very unique experience. A rare treat. The only better IPA I’ve had in the past is Russian River’s Bling Pig which is even harder to find here on the East Coast, especially since it’s from California unlike Heady Topper which hails from Vermont. All in all it was well worth the drive.
